I'm home. 

2 weeks of madness down and I have no idea where to start. Maybe at the beginning...

No Fucking Raconteurs Album. I hate this town. It's all such a fuck-up. I KNEW Zavvi were useless, nobody ever believes me! They HAVE it. Some stores are selling it. Some aren't. Mine isn't. There wastes my day of listening. I have the Beatles on instead.

Well, at least the passion is back. ; D

 

 

HOLY FUCKING YAY!

So...I'm not the greatest fan of livejournal still, but I've officially swanked mine up a bit, a whole new scheme, new icons and stuff. I actually like looking at it now, which probably helps. So here I am, showing off me new lack of mediocre blueish journal thing. We've gone brown. All I need now is friends. Hmm, which I should really get round to.

Shopping yesterday I found myself in the possession of a very green, very fitted, amazing Ben Sherman shirt. Which I think I love, and at £13 down from £35, who can argue?! Well anyone could, but even if I don't wear it at the moment I will for interviews and such.  Ohh and a rucksack.

And today has been quite productive, I went into a school to start spreading the word about D of E and such. And then there was the fencing. I'm officially useful when carrying large panels of wood across our muddy garden. And we no longer have huge gaps! hoorah. 

I think I'm developping a liking for cat power, how strange.

EEEEE! New series of Doctor Who starts a week tomorrow!!!! This makes me happy. Mr Tennant you are wonderful and gorgeous. And your new lady is a medical student, that's gonna be interesting! Woo. 

Meanwhile, ER, I love you, but why does Dr Weaver have to leave? huh? She's an amazing character. I'm loving Luka and Abby though, and Sam and Ben!

Also, when the hell is channel 4 going to get Lost back? I don't have Sky, give me a break, I need to see the third series! 

Life On Mars, you are excellent, and so hilarious, I love every moment. It's a shame this will be the last ever series, but also probably a good thing, like Faulty Towers, you will become a classic, loved forever more.

Argh, I still have House to watch. Suddenly I have good things to watch. I.E. things that aren't Celebrity get me the hell out of this goddamn talent show on a tropical island whilst eating grubs.

I am going to see the White Stripes. 

In June, Leeds Wireless festival.

Just 4 days after their album is released.

And I'm not paying for myself.

And hopefully meeting up with some awesome people.

So, it's done. I've sent off my email asking for my application to Nottingham to be transferred to another course after being rejected. It looks good, interesting, challenging. My wounds are still a bit sore from the initial shock of it all, but it's time to move on. I do feel like a massive weight has been lifted, I'm doing something come September, and something great. If I wasn't so obsessed with becoming a vet this course would have been a top notch choice. So it'll be fine and dandy. And who knows where I'll be in three years time. 

Now I have a lot of things to get done, and I actually feel able to do it, because I know that at least for a little while my future is secure. Now I can start getting excited about uni, like a normal student!

A NEW White Stripes Album has been announced! YAY I'm so ridiculously excited, and there's not even a release date yet. Just a name: Icky Thump. According to Mojo it comes from Ecky Thump, common turn of phrase of Lancashire folk, but Jack changed it to Icky as that's how it sounds when he says it. I love it, its quirky, and silly and childlike. Plus its British haha! And we rock your socks!

YAY

 

I did NOT think I'd be this happy about this news but I am, and its blissful. 

What's more...in MOJO it says there will be bagpipes, and trumpet which sounds...fab! And he says the Racs are recording in March, which is fucking TODAY and there will be albums and tours and then a massive break, which this genius man truly will deserve.  But but but for this year, we have him, and Meg and Brendan and Pat and LJ oh good grief I think I'm gonna pass out. 

Oh and did I mention theres a video clip on whitestripes.com Which is stunning, and the bit of the song sounds fucking awesome. Its called "I'm slowly turning into you". What a name.

EEEEEE and he says its gonna be like as heavy as the first album, but will be more complicated, and theres a song from 1998 and they took longer than ever before to record it (a luxurious 3 weeks) and its soooo good to hear Meg back! 

Excited? Me? Never. 

I knew March would rock, and it already is...this is amazing news!

Our outdoor leadership course really has taken a turn for the better, we spent a lot of this morning making fire...mwahahaha. With a steel and flint, a little tinder and wood collected by our own fair hands. There's something very rewarding about making fire without any kind of gizmo. Next time he's bringing a bow drill thing for us to play with too...oh teh pretty flames! Its not as easy as it looks though! Then there was the whole tent putting up palava which was amusing to say the least, trying to keep the very wet, muddy puppy off the nice clean flysheets is a job and a half. No snuggles for that puppy today!


Next time we go out we're getting live groups to try to control, god help us! I'm more than a little terrified by that prospect.

And now I smell of smoke and have only just warmed up from being out all day in just my fleece jumper instead of my coat (silly girl). But its been fun.

What's more the White Stripes website appears to be down, which means redesigning for the NEW ALBUM!! Haha excited! This added to Brendan's website being MIA. 2007 is gonna go down very well in my music history.

Well I just actually looked again and their site isn't down...but the above still applies

Well I guess I'd better make use of this here Livejournal thingo...

I'm so chilled today, I really need to find more to occupy my time with (like employment). What a blast from the past I got this morning when a lovely DVD arrived for me, from my bestest school buddy. At first I thought it was the CD I've been expecting, and jumped about a little too excitedly...but no, its a copy of Hogfather that was on over Christmas on sky. She's always tried to get me to read Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, and I've still not got round to it, so I think this was a gentle nudge at that. I've watched about half of it, and its pretty cool, although obviously intended to be watched, at Christmas. Hmm.

Well, now the parents are both home and I shall try to be...useful. Or maybe just look through some Raconteurs pictures for half an hour.

Hmm so that was fun for a first usage of this thing.
